Topic; Scatter Plots and Trend Lines

Correlation-

An indication of a predictive relationship between two variables. another way to define *correlation* is
Represents the likelihood that one variable is related to another.
Postive Correlation-
When the independent variable increases, the dependent variable also increases.
Negative Correlation-
When the independent variable increases, the dependent variable decreases.
No correlation-
There is no relationship between the variables.

Causation-

A relationship between an event (the cause) and the second event ( the effect) where the second event is a consequence of the first.

Strong/Weak-

How well does a line predict the relationship.

Extrapolation-

A prediction outside of your set of data.

Interpalation-

A prediction within your set of data

Linear Regression-

A statistic based technique that best defines a line of certain points- also known as a trend line; these are useful for predictions. :)

Here are some super aweosme and helpful videos about trend lines/scatter plots/ and a little about help with graphing calculators :D
